Youth registrations

Team activities at Easter VentureActivities at EV in 2009 Venturers can register as a team, join an existing team, or register as an individual (and be placed in a suitable team).

Easter Venture is a team event and participants are required to hike in a team of four to seven people. If you already have a team organised, please create one when registering and let your other team members know the team name.

Please also indicate if you are a daypack or fullpack team in the name, e.g. "Team Awesome (Daypack)".

If you need a team please select "I need a team: daypack" or "I need a team: fullpack" when registering and we will help find a team for you.


Y4 forms

Youth registrations also require a signed Y4 to be sent to easterventure@sa.scouts.com.au for your registration to be complete.

 

Leaders/Rovers/Supporting adults

All leaders at Easter Venture have assigned roles within the teams of Admin, Hike, Camp, First-aid, Theme, Communications and Activities.

Please confirm your position with the relevant team before applying for EV. If you would like to participate but don't have an assigned role please email easterventure@sa.scouts.com.au and provide information on any relevant skills or qualifications.

All youth members participating in EV must be 13.5 years or older and have not yet reached their eighteenth birthday on Friday 7 April 2023 (Good Friday).

18-year olds still within the Venturer Section may participate, but must sleep in separate tents during the event. They must have completed and submitted to Scouts SA a Working With Children Check (WWCC), a National Police Certificate (NPC), and completed SP CHILD online training prior to the event, and preferably before registering.


Older Scouts and first-time entrants

Registered Scouts and first-time entrants are invited to apply to attend as day pack participants. Those with strong experience in overnight bushwalking may request to enter as a full pack participant, but should first contact the event coordinators to discuss (easterventure@sa.scouts.com.au).


All Participants must have sufficient fitness, camping and navigation skills, and equipment required to complete the four day hike.

Teams can be made up of participants from the eligible groups of older Scouts, Venturers and Guides. For example, a team could comprise of Venturers from two different Units, or Venturers and Guides. Inviting a couple of older Scouts from your local Scout Unit might also be an effective linking activity.

Teams should comprise individuals with similar abilities and/or goals for Easter Venture.

  • Youth Participants: $70 (early bird) or $90 (full fee)
  • Adult Leaders (fully catered): $40
  • Rovers (Sunday night catering only): $20

Venturer event fee includes transport, camp fees, activities, entertainment and Sunday evening meal.

All withdrawals and requests for refund must be in writing.

  • Withdrawal before the Closing Date: Full Refund
  • Withdrawal more than 10 days before the event: Full refund less an administration charge
  • Withdrawal five days or more before the event: Maximum of 50% refund, after pre-payments to suppliers have been considered
  • Withdrawal less than five days before the event: No refund

Exceptional circumstances will be considered by the Leader-in-Charge only.
